Dayton & Knight Ltd. on behalf of the City of Chilliwack, and
in conjunction with a staged program of improvements to the Chilliwack
WPCC, undertook design and contract management for two high rate
anaerobic digesters.

Each of the digesters have gas mixing systems,
recirculation heat exchangers, and floating covers. Preheated,
thickened, mixed sludge is digested through either mesophilic or
themophilic operation. The Chilliwack digesters were the first in
British Columbia to be designed for thermophilic operation.
