The Avon site is restricted. ATAD reactors are
small by comparison to conventional aerobic digesters. The ATAD
process produces Class A biosolids, which fit in the Vail Valley Biosolids handling program.
This process reduces bio-mass by 35% and volatile content by 65%. Volatile solids reduction
is generally accomplished even at low average degree day (470
degree-day). The dewatered product meets
pasteurization requirements as per EPA 503 Rule, and reaches an average 26% dry cake off the
centrifuges.
