Rothberg, Tamburini & Winsor Inc. of USA undertook pre-design,
detailed design and commissioning for the ATAD facility at Edwards
Wastewater Treatment Plant.

The ATAD process consists of the following:

Each of the digesters have gas mixing systems,
recirculation heat exchangers, and floating covers. Preheated,
thickened, mixed sludge is digested through either mesophilic or
themophilic operation. The Chilliwack digesters were the first in
British Columbia to be designed for thermophilic operation.
