Dayton & Knight was responsible for the detailed engineering design
and project management of this project. In addition, Dayton &
Knight provided the configuration of the SCADA Human Machine Interface (HMI) using Wonderware's Intouch HMI product and the
programming of Motorola's MOSCAD Remote Terminal Units
(RTU)s that executed the control strategies designed for each site.

Dayton & Knight designed and implemented an Industrial SQL database
system that included access tools using Microsoft's ActiveX technologies
which will allow the District to record large amounts of data from the
remote water and sewer facilities, and to also have the ability to query
and present this data in various formats. Now multiple departments
within the District can access this data and present it in a format
suitable for individual requirements. |

With the implementation of the SCADA
System, the District has improved services to the community. Remotes
facilities are now monitored on a twenty-four hour basis. When
certain conditions arise at these remote sites, the appropriate
Department will be notified and the condition can receive attention
before major problems occur.
The SCADA system also enables District staff to make sound decisions
regarding water quality, consumption, and overall efficiency of both
the water and sewer facilities.
