SCADA - District of West Vancouver

The District of West Vancouver implemented a SCADA system to remotely
monitor and control municipal water and sewer pumping stations.
Dayton & Knight was responsible for the Human Machine Interface (HMI) configuration of the system using Intellution's
FIX HMI and the programming of Motorola's MOSCAD Remote Terminal Units (RTU)s that executed the control strategies designed for
each site.

The District has improved services to the community by implementing a
SCADA System.
When certain conditions arise at these remote sites, the appropriate
Department will be notified and the condition can receive attention
before major problems occur.
The configuration of the HMIs and programming of the
RTUs provided operators with:

Data
displays (such as pressure, reservoir levels, temperature, flows,
etc.) in exactly the same format as at the field locations. |
Automatic
paging of standby personnel for high priority alarms outside
normal working hours. |
Monitoring
and control of remote sites by standby operators from home. |
Trend
historical data that enables the District to collect and display
process data. |
Archived
data can be used for documentation and for analysis to assist in
decision-making. |
