The Revelstoke WWTP incorporates two lagoons in series, followed by
chlorination, and discharge to the Illecillewaet River. The lagoon
facility was constructed in 1975, and has undergone several upgrades
since.
The City of Revelstoke retained Dayton & Knight Ltd. to provide
engineering consulting services to review and recommend the improvements
required to meet the increase in serviced population. The proposed work
was identified in several stages including upgrades to Lagoon Cell No.2.
This work includes dewatering and desludging of the accumulated solids
in the lagoon, aeration system removal, relining and addition of new
aeration diffusers. The dewatering and desludging of the accumulated
solids in Lagoon Cell #2 has been substantially completed recently (See
pictures). The new liner contract has been awarded but the work has been
delayed to Spring 2007 due to weather conditions.
