The secondary treatment facility consists of two oxidation ditches
equipped with propeller mixers and fine bubble diffused aeration. The
dual mechanical system will allow operation in a anoxic/aerobic mode to
provide nitrogen removal, power savings and improved biosolids settleability
in the secondary clarifiers.
The complete treatment process consists of mechanical screening,
oxidation ditches, secondary clarifiers, aerobic digester, and biosolids
storage basin. An odour control facility to treat headworks emissions is provided.
