Projects - Prince George Wastewater Treatment Centre

City of Prince George, BC

The City of Prince George's Lansdowne Road Wastewater Treatment Centre is one of the most cost-effective wastewater treatment facilities in British Columbia and includes both primary and secondary treatment.

The treated wastewater meets or exceeds all the Ministry of Environment's current requirements.  This plant has a treatment capacity of 115,000 equivalent population.

The Public Works Association of BC awarded the City of Prince George with their Project of the Year Award for this project.

The recent upgrade to 100% secondary treatment of all flows significantly improves the quality of effluent discharged to the Fraser River and provides a 45 ML/d (10 MGD) facility designed to operate in ambient air temperatures which can range from -36oC to +28oC.  The plant is automatically controlled using PLC's and a SCADA system.
