Our Staff:
Dayton and
Knight's employees come from various cultures and they provide a variety
of work experiences gained from around the world. These combine to
encourage innovative approaches to problem solving.
Staff include environmental,
structural, civil, electrical, agricultural and mechanical engineers as well
as applied technologists, surveyors, construction inspectors, graphic
design, computer
drafting and secretarial.

Our fields of specialization
include:
sewage
collection, treatment, disposal and reclaimed water reuse; water supply,
treatment and distribution; storm water management, trenchless
technologies, solid waste management, shoreline protection work, asset
management, security issues.
Expertise is provided
in:
sanitary and health
engineering, hydraulics, hydrology, structural, electrical, mechanical,
instrumentation, SCADA, and computer modelling.
We
are continually searching for new processes that may better suit our
clients' needs.

Clients:
Since its inception in 1965, Dayton and Knight has
developed an extensive client base now exceeding over one hundred
Municipalities, Regional Districts and First Nations throughout British
Columbia.
While our client project needs vary in size and scope,
all projects access a number of specialists within the company as needed.
We have developed a close working relationship with the
First Nation communities, having successfully completed numerous projects
in over 25 communities.
In addition, Dayton and Knight has developed ties with other engineering
consultants to provide specialized services to clients throughout North
America as well as elsewhere in the world. This includes
thermophilic digestion and fixed growth nutrient removal processes as well
as membrane and water treatment, and
trenchless technologies.

Research Commitment:
The company identifies the need and
participates in its own or wholly funded research projects of interest to our
clients, including partnerships with the
University of British
Columbia,
University of
Alberta,
National Research
Council, Canada
and clients.
This includes work in water treatment
technology, biosolids treatment, nutrient removal processes, and water
distribution system quality impacts. Employees have authored
numerous professional articles and design manuals, and have presented at various technical conferences
around the world.
High
Technical Capability:
Dayton
and Knight undertakes improvements to engineering design and drafting production by continuously investing in, evaluating and developing most efficient methods of
producing client work products using both the latest computer
aided design (CAD) and traditional methods.

company's community involvement and social activities:
Dayton & Knight Ltd. has a commitment to improve
the communities in which it works and lives. Our culture of learning and

make a positive impact on our society by strengthening our ties with the
people living in these communities. Dayton & Knight Ltd. is proud to

the Province such as:
- Heart and Stroke Foundation Big Bike
- West Vancouver Millennium Floral Clock.
- Houston Social Club Golf Tournament.

Engineering and Geoscience (DAWEG). Two women Engineers are active
participants of DAWEG functions.

Programs – Preparing Youth for the Future.
- Four Dayton & Knight Ltd. employees volunteer
with the Job Mentoring Program offered by SUCCESS, a non-partisan
citizen organization that offers a comprehensive network of
employment services and programs to assist new Canadians of varying
occupations and career goals to achieve success in Canada.
- Two Managers participate in SITE BC functions.
The Society of Internationally Trained Engineers of British Columbia
is an independent non-profit society to represent the interests of
BC’s internationally trained engineering community.
- United Way Campaign.
- Festival of Lights at Dundarave. The festival
raises funds to assist the Harvest Project in holding its annual
Christmas dinner for hundreds of needy families.
- Participates in collecting donations and being
active in all Jean’s Day activities, hosted on behalf of BC’s
Children Hospital and Breast Cancer Research.
