Dayton & Knight Ltd. has a commitment to improve

the Province such as:
- West Vancouver Millennium Floral Clock.
- Houston Social Club Golf Tournament.
- Vancouver Sun Run.
- Telkwa Dog-Sled Race.
- Canadian Figure Skating Championship.
- Division for the Advancement of Women in
Engineering and Geoscience (DAWEG). Two women Engineers are active
participants of DAWEG functions.
- Aboriginal Head Start Program.
- Dayton & Knight Ltd. participates annually in
the Daffodil Drive for BC’s Cancer Society.
- West Vancouver School District’s Career
Programs – Preparing Youth for the Future.
- Four Dayton & Knight Ltd. employees volunteer
with the Job Mentoring Program offered by SUCCESS, a non-partisan
citizen organization that offers a comprehensive network of
employment services and programs to assist new Canadians of varying
occupations and career goals to achieve success in Canada.
- Two Managers participate in SITE BC functions.
The Society of Internationally Trained Engineers of British Columbia
is an independent non-profit society to represent the interests of
BC’s internationally trained engineering community.
- United Way Campaign.
- Festival of Lights at Dundarave. The festival
raises funds to assist the Harvest Project in holding its annual
Christmas dinner for hundreds of needy families.
The company
participates in collecting donations and being active in all Jean’s Day
activities, hosted on behalf of BC’s Children Hospital and Breast Cancer
Research.

To celebrate
EARTH DAY, Dayton &
Knight Ltd. purchased 30 SPRUCE SEEDLINGS
that were distributed to staff to take home and plant.
We are also pleased to
announce that Dayton & Knight Ltd. is starting a
“GREEN COMMITTEE” to work on sustainability
initiatives for our workplace, home and environment. We will be looking
at sustainable solutions in the areas of energy use, waste, paper use,
water use, etc.

APEG E-Fest at the Vancouver Public Library

In support of APEGBC's Engineering Week, D&K
hosted a booth and handed out helium balloons to children, at the downtown Vancouver Public Library. The goal of the event is to
demonstrate to the public the role engineers play in society and to
inspire others considering this career path.

D&K staff took part in the 12th Annual Beach House Festival of Lights by
sponsoring and decorating a Christmas tree.
All the proceeds from this event help to support the Family Services of
the North Shore.

Tom volunteers yearly as a Radio Operator and provides safety and medical
assistance during the run. The Sun Run donates money received from entries to
the Raise-a-Reader campaign, which has raised more than $3.45 million in
support of children and family literacy in British Columbia.
